Read her post and enter the giveaway, which is open internationally of course. Thanks to lovely Kerry for visiting today and for offering a prize for our readers.

All I want for Christmas… is Star Wars!

When I was a child, way back in the mists of time before boys were boys and girls were girls, my brother and I watched Star Wars. A lot.

He was completely obsessed. My interests were wider (books, my Sindys, books, Abba, books…) but we both loved it.

Obviously, I loved Princess Leia, who kicked just as much ass as Han and Luke, who gave Han all the sass (if there’s a more romantic line in a film than “I love you”, “I know” then I’m yet to hear it) and who blinking well had the Force just like Luke did!
Princess Leia was my childhood hero (well, one of them. I also loved Agnetha from Abba, Maria Von Trapp, the Fossil sisters, Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield, and a friend of my auntie’s who had the furriest boots ever, but Leia was definitely up there with the best of them). She taught me that girls could do anything boys could do, that it was important to stand up for myself, and that princesses didn’t have to sit around and wait to be rescued – they could do some rescuing of their own.

Now I’ve got kids of my own and this Christmas there is a new Star Wars film coming out. We’re off on a family trip to the cinema the weekend before Christmas to watch The Force Awakens – and here’s where my wish comes in…

I really wish it’s good!

I wish it’s just as brilliant and exciting and thrilling and play-inspiring for my children as the originals were for my brother and me.

I wish that Princess Leia still kicks ass and sasses Han.

And most of all, I wish that the heroine – Rey – is in every bit of the action and that she inspires a whole new generation of kick-ass little girls.
Merry Christmas, fuzzball!

I didn’t have a Christmas wedding myself,we had an Easter one though.
But a Christmas wedding always sounds so romantic xx

  2. I went to a wedding just after Christmas last year, and it was so much fun. They even had everyone bring Christmas jumpers, to have the novelty jumper photo outside the town hall!

OOOOH yes definitely. Would love to have all the Christmas colours as part of the wedding theme. Just need a “significant other” and unfortunately my favourite rockstar is married lol (sorry – I am listening to him at the moment though). 🙂 Merry Christmas.
