Happy Saturday, peeps! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! Here at TCR headquarters is rather busy with preparations of new festive posts and giveaways as part of #TCRXmas. Today lovely Jackie Kabler visited me with a Christmas guest post. Jackie’s a presenter and recently an author, and her debut ‘The Dead Dog Day’ was released in October. I had the pleasure to read it and totally recommend it! Do read my review of it HERE. Many thanks to Jackie for visiting me today and see you tomorrow with a new post, guys!
ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS
Christmas. I LOVE Christmas. But today’s question is, what do I WANT for Christmas? If Santa Claus was standing in front of me now, telling me everything I wanted was possible, what would I ask him for? OK, let me think…
As a debut author, of course what I really want for Christmas is a best selling novel. Make that a best selling novel which slowly (or even quickly) races to the top of the Amazon charts. A novel which then gets made into a brilliant TV series. Or a movie. Yes, a movie. A big, blockbuster, multi billion dollar, Hollywood movie. Is that OK for starters, Santa?
Then there’s all the other stuff I want. The really BIG stuff now. I want world peace. I want people to stop killing each other. I want everyone to be kind to everyone else, no matter what their religion, race or sexual preference. I want people to build each other up, not tear each other down. I want humans to stop doing horrific things to other humans. And I want people to stop dying of diseases like cancer. I want a cure for cancer, and I want it now. And cures for all the other horrible things that have taken away people I love. The challenge is getting bigger, Santa.
So – maybe some little things now, just to fill the gaps in my Christmas stocking. I’d actually like a Kindle. I’m still a paperback girl, but after years of filling holiday suitcases with so many books that I don’t have enough room for shoes, it may be time to try some technology. But I’d like some real books too, please Santa…there’s still enough room on my bookshelf for a few more before I’ll have to move house.
Then I’d like some thermal running leggings so that I can train through the winter in comfort as I prepare to tackle a 100km charity challenge next year. I’d like the wrist I broke while ice skating nearly a year ago to stop hurting and start working properly again, so that I can work on my second novel without my hand constantly cramping up as I type. Oh – and I’d like some snow on Christmas Day too please. It’s been years since we had a proper White Christmas!
That’s it really. Except for this – I’d like everyone I know to be happy and healthy this Christmas. May all our wishes come true, and may 2016 be the best year yet.
